Everything you need to know about the SocialFi API

What is a SocialFi API?

SocialFi combines social features with real on-chain activity. A SocialFi API gives your product both sides: who a user is, which wallets are provably theirs and what they actually trade. CabalSpy ID delivers this as one integration — you build the social experience, CabalSpy handles identity, wallet verification and trade tracking.

SocialFi integration: login, verified wallets, live trades

  • Login with CabalSpy ID — standard OpenID Connect (authorization code + PKCE). Users sign in with their X account; you receive their profile, verified wallets and KOL badge.
  • Verified wallets — users prove a wallet with a tiny on-chain payment. No wallet connect, no signature prompt.
  • Every trade, live — all trades of verified wallets are tracked automatically. No indexing on your side.
  • Data API at api-id.cabalspy.xyz/v1 — users, profiles, wallet lookup, stats and PnL chart, trade history, holdings, PnL calendar, leaderboards and latest trades.
  • WebSocket stream of every trade of your users (Pro plan and up) and webhooks for wallet.verified, wallet.removed, profile.updated, kol.granted, consent.revoked and thesis.created.

SocialFi widget: login button and token theses

Not every feature needs your own UI. Two widgets come ready to embed and are designed in the dashboard:

  • Login button — “Login with CabalSpy ID” in two lines of HTML. Signed-in users see their avatar and a menu.
  • Token theses — holders explain why they hold a token, and every thesis shows their real, on-chain verified position and live PnL (marked “Sold” when they exit). Bullish/bearish tags, replies, likes, emoji reactions and moderation are included. By default a token shows theses from all platforms; you can switch to your own instance only.

SocialFi use cases

  • Leaderboards of your own users by PnL, win rate, volume or trades — per chain and period

  • Copy trading and following based on verified, tracked performance
  • Trader profiles with stats, PnL chart, holdings and PnL calendar
  • Verified & KOL badges that make fake callers stand out

For trading terminals, DEXs, launchpads, bots, wallets, games and communities — any app. See the CabalSpy ID overview for how it works.

Quick start: REST, JavaScript SDK and Python SDK

Use the same API key as the CabalSpy API with the “CabalSpy ID” toggle enabled. A key sees its own instance: the users who signed in to your apps.

REST · cURL
curl -G https://api-id.cabalspy.xyz/v1/wallets/leaderboard \
  -d blockchain=solana -d period=7d -d sort=pnl_usd \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY"
SocialFi SDK · JavaScript / TypeScript
// npm install cabalspy-id
import { CabalSpyID } from 'cabalspy-id';

const csid = new CabalSpyID({ apiKey: process.env.CABALSPY_API_KEY });

// The person who just signed in: look them up by the sub of their ID token
const profile = await csid.profile({ csid_id: claims.sub });

// Your users ranked by PnL
const board = await csid.leaderboard({ blockchain: 'solana', period: '7d', sort: 'pnl_usd', limit: 25 });
SocialFi SDK · Python
# pip install cabalspy-id
from cabalspy_id import CabalSpyID

csid = CabalSpyID()  # reads CABALSPY_ID_API_KEY, then CABALSPY_API_KEY

profile = csid.profile(csid_id=claims["sub"])
board = csid.leaderboard(blockchain="solana", period="7d", sort="pnl_usd", limit=25)

The JavaScript SDK also ships CabalSpyIDAuth for OpenID Connect, React components (<CabalSpyLogin />, <CabalSpyTheses />), a ThesisClient and webhook verification.

Chains

Solana, BNB Chain, Base, Ethereum and Robinhood Chain — one login and one API for all of them.

Frequently asked questions

01

What is a SocialFi API?

A SocialFi API connects social identity with on-chain activity. CabalSpy ID is a SocialFi API: your users sign in with their X account, prove their wallets on-chain, and every trade of those wallets is tracked live on Solana, BNB Chain, Base, Ethereum and Robinhood Chain. Your platform receives profiles, verified wallets, KOL badges and trading stats through OpenID Connect, a REST Data API, a WebSocket stream and webhooks.

02

How do I add SocialFi features to my app?

Create a CabalSpy ID instance in the API dashboard, add the “Login with CabalSpy ID” button and read your users’ data from the Data API — or install the SDK (npm install cabalspy-id or pip install cabalspy-id). Then build leaderboards, trader profiles, live activity feeds, copy trading or chart markers on top. Token theses work out of the box with the widget.

03

Is there a SocialFi widget?

Yes, two. The login button adds “Login with CabalSpy ID” with two lines of HTML. The theses widget shows token theses from verified holders — with their real position and live PnL — and lets signed-in users write, reply and react. Both are designed in the dashboard.

04

Which chains does the SocialFi API support?

Solana, BNB Chain, Base, Ethereum and Robinhood Chain. One login and one API cover all five chains.

05

Do users need to connect a wallet?

No. Users prove a wallet with a tiny on-chain payment from it — no wallet connect and no signature prompt.

06

Is there a free plan?

Yes. The Free plan includes 50 users with data and 1 request per second; paid plans start at $49 per month. Token theses are included on every plan.
